Music. Finally. I was handed a pile of unsolicited CDs from Moscow, and here is the music that I have been craving. There are times when music moves beyond the sphere of commerce, or even art, and becomes part of the very lifeblood of a particular city or group of people. Perhaps this was true of Liverpool in the early 1960s. I remember it in Buenos Aires in the early 1990s. And, from this sample, it would now seem wonderfully true of Moscow. This is a place where I will be working in the next year.

Today at the Vicarage : The Vicarage

And if that were not sufficient, my mornings are also being powered by the arrival of a complete set of Haydn string quartets courtesy of the CHRVL. A veritable feast.

I heard Gordon Haskell speaking on "Start the week" – announcing that there are over a million pre sales for his single. Will the Crimson member that never was, be the first to top the charts , I wonder? All will be revealed next week.
